Analysis paralysis is a terrible affliction that impacts 2 out of every 3 campaigns. Do you have the following symptoms?
- Facebook and Twitter accounts that haven’t been touched in weeks?
- An email list that is dying on the vine because you’re not consistently touching base with supporters via the most powerful medium you have at your disposal?
- An average approval process that is measured via sundial as nineteen members of your team debate whether that one sentence needs a semicolon or not?
If you’re chuckling to yourself right now, you probably “get it.” If you’re obsessing over why I used numbers in the opening sentence, but spelled out nineteen in the third bullet, you’re part of the problem.
Strong, consistent messaging is crucial for any campaign. Across all platforms you work diligently with your team to produce content that you’re proud of and that effectively conveys your point of view while inspiring action.
Social media and email gives you a 24/7 way to communicate with voters and it’s up to you to take advantage of that opportunity. 25,000 Likes, 10,000 Followers, or a 100,000 person email list isn’t going to mean much if the average voter is effectively seeing this from you and your team…

If you’re waiting for the perfect Tweet, or Facebook post, you’ll never connect with your voters and supporters. They’re waiting for you to reach out and start a conversation; that’s why they’re following you!
Take advantage of the opportunity social media provides you by reaching out to voters, supporters, and donors with daily messages that inspire action.
If you drive by a campaign office and see no activity, you’re rightly going to assume nothing is going on. It works the exact same way with social media, so show your voters that there is plenty going on…and that you need their help today.
